The platform currently lists 27 published contracts covering at least 9,200 providers and 193 facilities – predominantly in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area – with more contracts to be added throughout the country. Addressing Cancer at the Worksite

Two valuable resources are available to help employers and centers address cancer at the worksite:

  • Evernorth Health Services has a new report “Cancer Among Young, Working-Age Adults” that offers great insight into the younger working population’s cancer risks and what can be done to help them at the worksite.
  • The NAWHC First Monday Roundtable offered actionable information on “Addressing Cancer at the Worksite.” Among the many valuable pieces of information presented were:
    1) Efforts to address cancer should primarily focus on identifying it at the earliest stage possible.
    2) By doing so, employers benefit through fewer catastrophic claims, predictable lower spend, trust in onsite clinics and less workplace disruption.
    3) Early detection and treatment helps employees through more likely survival, better surgical outcomes, improved mental health and greater productivity.
  • A list of questions employers and worksite center providers should ask themselves and potential cancer screening partners about proposed screening devices/tests:
    • How does this test/device reduce delay in treatment?
    • Who does the work?
    • What happens after a positive?
    • What’s the real adoption rate?
    • How do you fail safely?

You can listen to the full roundtable discussion at this link.
